WE LIVE IN EDEN, BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING WITH IT?

Raibow Mountains Gansu, China

So many times I’ve photographed stories that show the degradation of the planet. I had one idea to go and photograph the factories that were polluting, and to see all the deposits of garbage. But, in the end, I thought the only way to give us an incentive, to bring hope, is to show the pictures of the pristine planet – to see the innocence.

Sebastiao Salgado

As much as I gree with Mr. Salgado my idea it’s one of   contrast, by showing the beautiful sight of Mother nature, and the ugly, destructive, and sinister side of Men.

There’s not two ways about it, no conservation efforts, rapacious rape of Mother Earth in the name of progress, and profit, or every effort to keep pristine ecological systems in place?

Environmental degradation is the deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wildlife. It is defined as any change or disturbance to the environment perceived to be deleterious or undesirable.

My question is, can we find a solution to this mess we are in?

The Glory of Autumn

Hardly a day go by when we do not hear of an ecological disaster of one type or another one, in their absence, at least doomsday predictions of more to come!

“We’re running the most dangerous experiment in history right now, which is to see how much carbon dioxide the atmosphere… can handle before there is an environmental catastrophe.”

Elon Musk

“Our globe is under new dramatic environmental pressure: our globe is warming, our ice caps melting, our glaciers receding, our coral is dying, our soils are eroding, our water tables falling, our fisheries are being depleted, our remaining rain forests shrinking. Something is very, very wrong with our eco-system.”

Richard Lamm

“It’s coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It’s not just climate change; it’s sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde. Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now.”

David Attenborough

Hurricane Harvey disaster

“If you’d rather live surrounded by pristine objects than by the traces of happy memories, stay focused on tangible things. Otherwise, stop fixating on stuff you can touch and start caring about stuff that touches you.” Martha Beck

“The most important thing about global warming is this. Whether humans are responsible for the bulk of climate change is going to be left to the scientists, but it’s all of our responsibility to leave this planet in better shape for the future generations than we found it.”

Mike Huckabee

“Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans.”

Jacques Yves Cousteau

“A very Faustian choice is upon us: whether to accept our corrosive and risky behavior as the unavoidable price of population and economic growth, or to take stock of ourselves and search for a new environmental ethic.”

E. O. Wilson

Waterfalls

“The planet’s biggest problems have to do with sustainability, environmental decline, global poverty, disease, conflict and so forth. Really, they’re all interconnected – it’s one big problem, which is that the way we’re doing things can’t go on.”

Alex Steffen

“We assume that everything’s becoming more efficient, and in an immediate sense that’s true; our lives are better in many ways. But that improvement has been gained through a massively inefficient use of natural resources.”

Paul Hawken

Published scientific studies have found that mountaintop mining has serious environmental impacts that mitigation practices cannot successfully address. A high potential for human health impacts has also been reported. Not to talk about the massive destroying of the natural environment, and wildlife, and surrounding communities.

Mountain removal

“What obligation is more binding than to protect the cherished, to defend whoever or whatever cannot defend itself, and to nurture in turn that which has given nourishment? I’m reminded of words written by John Seed, an Australian environmentalist. When he began considering these questions, he believed, “I am protecting the rain forest.” But as his thought evolved, he realized, “I am part of the rain forest protecting myself.”

Richard Nelson, The Island Within

“I love being immersed in nature, going to places in the world that are pristine and untouched by man. It’s almost a religious experience when you go to a place like the Amazon, and there’s no civilization for thousands of miles.”

Leonardo DiCaprio

Pristine Amazon Forest

“If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.”

Henry David Thoreau

“At first I thought I was fighting to save rubber trees, then I thought I was fighting to save the Amazon rain forest. Now I realize I am fighting for humanity.”

Chico Mendes

Now my question to you, do you think like Chico Mendes? Who was murdered in December 1988 fighting to save you, and Humanity?

Amazon Forest Destroyed

“Meat is a mighty contributor to climate change and other environmental problems. The amount of meat we’re eating is one of the leading causes of climate change. It’s as important as the kind of car you drive – whether you eat meat a lot or how much meat you eat.”

Michael Pollan

“Capitalism does not permit an even flow of economic resources. With this system, a small privileged few are rich beyond conscience, and almost all others are doomed to be poor at some level. That’s the way the system works. And since we know that the system will not change the rules, we are going to have to change the system.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

“The Wasteland was an empty car park behind a long abandoned pub. Minah like it because she said it reminded her of the permanence of concrete in stark contrast to the entropy of humanity. Harrison had dubbed it the Wasteland after the TS Eliot poem, because it was full of disillusionment and despair.”

Lili Wilkinson, The Boundless Sublime

Urban Decay

“The County Jail looked like a tall, forbidding elementary school. Seven stories of dirty brown brick, one hundred years old and now operating at 330 percent of capacity.”

Richard Price, Clockers

“Automation provides us with wondrous increases of production and information, but does it tell us what to do with the men the machines displace? Modern industry gives us the capacity for unparalleled wealth – but where is our capacity to make that wealth meaningful to the poor of every nation?”

Robert Kennedy

“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.”

Mother Teresa

Homeless Everywhere

“Life is now a war zone, and as such, the number of people considered disposable has grown exponentially, and this includes low income whites, poor minorities, immigrants, the unemployed, the homeless, and a range of people who are viewed as a liability to capital and its endless predatory quest for power and profits.”

Henry Giroux

“The world has a very serious problem, my friend’ Shiva went on. ‘Poor children still die by their millions. Westerners and the global rich — like me — live in post-scarcity society, while a billion people struggle to get enough to eat. And we’re pushing the planet towards a tipping point, where the corals die and the forests burn and life becomes much, much harder. We have the resources to solve those problems, even now, but politics and economics and nationalism all get in the way. If we could access all those minds, though…”

Ramez Naam, Crux

Children living in a dump

“Where there is poverty, there will be destruction and exploitation by the corporations and governments benefiting from destroying our rain forests and trafficking wildlife.”

Eileen Anglin

“Life is now a war zone, and as such, the number of people considered disposable has grown exponentially, and this includes low income whites, poor minorities, immigrants, the unemployed, the homeless, and a range of people who are viewed as a liability to capital and its endless predatory quest for power and profits.”

Henry Giroux

“If I could go back to a point in history to try to get things to come out differently, I would go back and tell Moses to go up the mountain again and get the other tablet. Because the Ten Commandments just tell us what we are supped to do with one another, not a word about our relationship to the earth. Genesis starts with these commands: multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it. We have multiplied very well, we have replenished our populations very well, we have subdued it all too well, and we don’t have any other instruction.”

David Brower

“I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars.”

Walt Whitman

Wonderful Verenda

“We are being called upon to act against a prevailing culture, to undermine our own entrenched tendency to accumulate and to consume, and to refuse to define our individuality by our presumed ability to do whatever we want.”

Lyanda Lynn Haupt, Crow Planet: Essential Wisdom from the Urban Wilderness

“To save our dying earth, any government which is not environmentalist must go because on earth there are thousands of governments but there in only one earth! Continuing with the eco-traitor stupid governments means an environmental suicide! Enemies of nature are real barbarians and there is no place for these savages in our civilization!”

Mehmet Murat ildan

Deepwater-Horizon

“If you want to save the humankind, you should first take care of Nature. It’s the legacy that we leave behind,That brings us hope, that’s for sure!”
Ana Claudia Antunes, The Fairies of the Four Seasons: The Dance of Time

“Somebody has to be tireless or the fast buck operators would asphalt the entire coast, fill every bay and slay every living thing incapable of carrying a wallet.”

John D. MacDonald, Where is Janice Gantry?

“The future of the next generation relies on astronomers obtaining a full understanding of the rapidly changing human environmental conditions and the halting of biologically toxic corporate government policies. The overloading of the electromagnetic environment is one of these disastrous policies that must stop.”

Steven Magee

“Yes sir, yes madam, I entreat you, get out of those motorized wheelchairs, get off your foam rubber backsides, stand up straight like men! like women! like human beings! and walk-walk-WALK upon our sweet and blessed land!”

Edward Abbey, Desert Solitaire.

Red sea on the forest

“Extinction, the irrevocable loss of a species, causes pain that can never find relief. It is an ache that will pass from generation to generation for the rest of human history.”

Callum Roberts, The Unnatural History of the Sea

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”

Mahatma Gandhi

“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.”

Chris Maser, Forest Primeval: The Natural History of an Ancient Forest

“Oh Beautiful for smoggy skies, insecticided grain, For strip-mined mountain’s majesty above the asphalt plain.
America, America, man sheds his waste on thee,
And hides the pines with billboard signs, from sea to oily sea.”
George Carlin

Kuwait oil fields on fire

“Saving our planet, lifting people out of poverty, advancing economic growth… these are one and the same fight. We must connect the dots between climate change, water scarcity, energy shortages, global health, food security and women’s empowerment. Solutions to one problem must be solutions for all.”

Ban Ki-moon

“Sooner or later, we will have to recognize that the Earth has rights, too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that human beings cannot live without Mother Earth, but the planet can live without humans.”

Evo Morales

“The Earth does not belong to us: we belong to the Earth.”

Marlee Matlin

“Election days come and go. But the struggle of the people to create a government which represents all of us and not just the one percent – a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice – that struggle continues.”

Bernie Sanders

Bottom Line

Now my point is, which of the two Worldviews you prefer to live in?

Maybe there may be a few odd ones around there, who may choose the wrong view, for whatever personal selfish, twisted reason, but I already know most of you want to look at a rainbow color future picture, than one of destruction and degradation.

So, go out there and fight for it, with all your might, as best as you can, otherwise there will not be any future rainbow picture left for us.
The view over the rainbow

  1. Brilliant! Loved this so much. Close to my heart as well.

  2. Don Ostertag says:

Great post. I only wish you did not lead off with an Elton Musk quote. I have a hard time with anyone that has manufactured and sold 15k flame throwers used to destroy and kill.

  3. James McEwan says:

Yes, we are all descended from the selfish gene. How can we collectively change? One aspect, poverty: Capitalism fails to reward true labour, instead it is the profiteers who accumulate exaggerated rewards which they hoard like worthless impotent chalices. Like air, wealth needs to circulate.
A great post, but surely the Earth will survive, with or without humankind.
I am beginning to sound like a doomed Scotsman.

    • theburningheart says:

Well, I am old and a little bit cynic, yes things are very bad thanks to that selfish gene, in my view even if we rest on the shoulders of giants historically speaking, each generation has to fight it’s own battles, and this current battle is a great one, yes, our World will keep turning, and there’s chances some people may remain to keep Humankind going, which in the large scale frame, of billions of years, it doesn’t seem too much important, since we have been since 11:58:43 PM here for only the last minute of the day, but what a hell of mess we have done, for just a minute, and seven seconds time! 🤔🤨 🙂

  4. sherazade says:

    “Nuova etica morale”!
Tuttavia le parole scorrono come fiumi ed evaporano nel mare (male).
    Bellissimo articolo.
    Shera

  5. Lots to look at and think about here.

  6. If only words could really (and quickly) change and restore the world.
    Tx.
    K&M

    • theburningheart says:

Well, we hope that out of the hundreds, or maybe thousands, who browse this, maybe one, or if we are lucky, a few, it may bring them change, never underestimate the power of words, as a young man when I become a vegetarian, I turned many people into vegetarianism, just by talking, and setting an example, to this day many have remained active, there’s no reason why in any given day, people may wake up , and start doing the right thing.
Of course there’s a lot to do yet, yourself doing a great work in your blog, keep up the good fight, and do not be discourage, there’s great power to the word.

K&M thank you for your comment. 🙂

  7. I wonder whether the human being is some kind of a bug he has always tried to eliminate, but not succeeded. So, if man is in fact so strong and has the capability to come to grips with these enormous existing problems, so I hope that he will finally take things into his hands and start working for his degenerating paradise! I thank you very much for this goose pimple provoking post.

    • theburningheart says:

Well Martina, in all fairness we are the new kid in the neighborhood, like I commented above to Mr. McEwan, in geological times we have lived on Earth a minute and seven seconds of a day!
And we can say we know nothing!
And yet we have the power to make such chaos…
Now, this is my belief, if we are here, it’s not by chance, a believer or a non-believer would have to admit that even if everything it’s the product of chance, and happenstance, we posses reason, and consciousnesses, and the capacity to judge what’s profitable to us and what’s not.
Obviously messing up our planet will not benefit any of us on the long run, otherwise Mankind, will be a small footnote, on the record, after all less than two minutes time will hardly matter at all and new forms of life will take our place, after all those troublemakers dinosaurs are gone, as well, and that will be the end of the story with that little pest, named humans! 🙂

      • I thank you for all your very interesting information, Mr. Brogiodo. Indifferent of how we want to call ourselves, it seems that you agree with me that we have in fact the capabilities to act in a way that our planet could thrive instead of being destroyed. 🙂 In any case, I wish you a good day. Martina

      • theburningheart says:

Thank you Martina, you are right we must fight for what’s good, and right for our survival, but we always should recognize the humor of our self made predicaments, and contemplate philosophically our dismiss, as a failed experiment, if too dumb to stop, and correct what’s wrong with Us, will see, or we may not..!
By the way I thank you for your comments, I enjoy our exchange. 🙂

      • Absolutely and maybe we should abolish MONEY!!!:) It is always a pleasure to read your thoughts!

  8. creekrose says:

Senor I just want to say thank you. I have returned to this article numerous times because something in it was stirring my gut, my heart, my thoughts and finally it came together coalescing from your question at the beginning using the word ‘find’ and your ending with ‘fight’, these served as a catalyst for me involving the warrior stance, for there are many ways to fight yet at the core there must be intent from which flavor emerges leading to human pests being also warriors in motion, in action or even in withdrawal, without attachment to yoga mats or battlefields upon which to exert might . . .. anyway, I appreciate your exertion! Thank you.

    • theburningheart says:

Well Creekrose you have find a way, you now go and fight for what’s right, and be a champion for the cause of justice.
And do not forget leading by example, would make your words mighty, and dedication, to the work would bear fruits.
Thank you for your words, now try hard to be a perfect knight in your quest, because the road it’s long, uphill, and treacherous. 🙂

      • creekrose says:

Remembrance, this is zhikr, a vital ingredient that informs the state of the knight on the dark road winding uphill downhill through light and shadow. Often we forget the zhikr involved, and simply rush out and fight without the first fight, the wrestle with nafs through which to evolve into ‘insaan’ but that is a whole other post yes . . . it is with gratitude that I read you on the road 🙂 Salud.

      • theburningheart says:

I am pretty aware of Dhikr, or Zhikr, I am glad you are too.
“Love all and hate none. Mere talk of peace will avail you naught. Mere talk of God and religion will not take you far. Bring out all the latent powers of your being and reveal the full magnificence of your immortal self.

Be overflowing with peace and joy, and scatter them wherever you are and wherever you go. … Never refuse to bless and help the needy and the poor, the widow, and the orphan, if they come to your door. This is your mission, to serve the people.”
        K. M. Chishti

And the laws of Futtuwah, Spiritual chivalry.

  9. Old Jules says:

Too many humans. Until we learn to curb population growth and promote actual population decline we’re going to experience exponential accelerated degradation of the environment. Because human beings are no better than pigs.

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, if we do like the Chinese did during Mao Tse Tung population can be decrease in half, in one generation, however, it’s doubtful most countries to agree in that policy, however there’s a lot of other conservation practices we can implement in many areas, as it is Governments around the globe, are at the service of plutocrats, and their concern it’s not the environment, but how to make more money, that needs to be stop, period.

Thank you for your comment, it’s appreciated. 🙂

  10. “I am part of the rain forest protecting myself.” I love this idea, though it is difficult to think of myself as part of nature since most days it seems so distant from me. Perhaps it is this disconnect which keeps us from comprehending our actions.

    • theburningheart says:

It’s a problem of being living in cities, or large populated areas, with little connection to Nature, we sort of live in an urban landscape isolated from what we call ‘wild Nature’
an expression that reveals how estranged we are from our roots.

Thank you for your comment. 🙂

  11. I feel so strongly for this issue. It makes me go insane when people still take Nature for granted. Last month the condition in New Delhi was that we could no longer breathe the air, it was that polluted, the levels crossed all limits😔😔

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, I have read about it, hope soon they take measures to alleviate the problem, so many cities around the world, are facing similar problems, and it may get worse, before people, and governments wake up. 😦

  12. Reblogging this to my sister site, Success Inspirers World

PS I love your blog image 😆

  13. leggypeggy says:

An excellent collection of quotes and pics. Thank you.

  14. Ankur Mithal says:

Great selection of quotes and images. Though some of them need to be taken with a pinch of salt. One cannot imagine Mr. Mush spending and making all the money he does without leaving a dent on the environment.

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, you are the second person who complaint about it, my mistake to include him on the post, on my defense I was ignorant of his many business, I guess I am to blame for not watching media, or reading the newspapers, I just check him recently online and he is all over the place.
I apologize, I tend to focus, on things that interest me, and paid little head to what seems to be mass media marketing, and people whose lifestyle ls to promote themselves into fame.
Thank you for your comment. 🙂

  15. I harbor so much despair over this matter which you have presented artfully. Perhaps you may add icons so followers could repost on fb, tw and G+. I certainly would have reposted on all my social media.

    • theburningheart says:

Carl, thank you for your great offer, unfortunately, I guess because my age, and character, I am a little bit of a Luddite, unintentionally I may add, since years ago someone encourage me to open this blog, and having a Twitter account, now people is urging me to go to different medias, and get surprised when I tell them I got not a FB account!
I just recently bought a cellular phone, and it’s driving me nuts. The demands of both accounts, and my personal life, keep me pretty busy as it is, so I have been morose to expand my activities and open more media accounts, will see.

Thank you for your comment, and your generous offer, we appreciate it Carl. 🙂

  16. Maria says:

I suppose that in order to survive one needs to learn ‘moderation’, yet the world teaches one to consume and overindulge. Since this is the case, I try to do with what I can and benefit from the wisdom years could bring. Each human being has a dilemma with this issue, whether accepted or not. In this day and age, all humans have become victims of their own doing.

    • theburningheart says:

Well Maria, most of us Humans, we live in ignorance, and therefore we lack virtue, and therefore devoid of Wisdom, knowledge most we have, since we are aware of the problem, but to apply the lessons of that knowledge it what makes the difference, and there’s the place for Wisdom.
I rather talk about raising consciousness, despite the obvious relationship between a World order, based on the now obsolete system we live as ‘consumers,’ their needs, and all that economic pyramid, of those who hold the status quo, by their vested interest on it.
I guess events will finally overtake, and subvert those needs, one way, or another, regardless of the consequences, as I commented above, in Geological time, we have been here just a minute, and seven seconds.

  17. ohiocook says:

Thank you for dropping by my blog.

  18. DG MARYOGA says:

It’s not a post just to read, but to study …
You always bring out issues that harass humanity in these days.We have disturbed the balances of
nature and the moral values almost worldwide;injustice prevails in every field of our lives and sooner or later we will all experience more or less extreme catastrophic consequences.Your spectacular photos immensely enhance the wisdom of your words and your viewpoint.May humans awake before it’s too late.Thank you for your challenging and thought-provoking post.Best regards.

    • theburningheart says:

Thank you Doda, you are very kind, life it’s a process of change, and one of increased learning for us Humans, we need to acquire consciousness in order to adapt to the new circumstances, and the challenges it implies constant change, and the acquisition of Wisdom.

It will not be easy, and many things can happen, and go wrong, but I have Faith, some may disagree, according to their own beliefs, but there’s a purpose for everything, and it’s my belief we have to acquire such Wisdom, despite our failures. 🙂

      • DG MARYOGA says:

Nothing can stop the evolution in all fields of our lives. We must change too,but before we have to … At least, the awareness of reality keeps us grounded and knowledge is the best investment.I live with the hope that the mighty rulers of this ephemeral world won’t invade humans’ powerful mindset.

      • theburningheart says:

Yes, I agree, we all should worry, and do our best, but there’s a Will of a higher power, than even that of our mighty rulers, and It’s the one, that will prevail, as for us such Will escape our wisdom, and may not be what we expect, or desire, in our fragile, transient condition, but ultimately, its Wisdom would be evident, to us all.

  19. Christy B says:

The world is losing its mind over politics and forgetting the necessity of focusing on the Earth – let’s make this a priority! You’ve presented so many good points here. Always high quality.

    • theburningheart says:

Christy, on this day of love, and friendship, you make a great point as usual, Earth over politics, after all Earth need us more to clean up our act, although some may argue we need to fight fiercely politically speaking to achieve just that, but I get your meaning, forget the usual petty, political squabbles, and take care of the urgent business!

Thank you Christy for your nice comment! 🙂 ❤️

  20. Powerful post. The contrasts in the images are profound. I hope we live up to the best in our natures and make wise, compassionate choices for our planet, each other, and our own lives.

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, I agree, the quality of the choice will determine the future, not of the planet, since the World will keep spinning, as usual, but the future of us humans, and every living thing on the planet.
Thank you for your great comment. 🙂

  21. J.D. Riso says:

Quite a collection of posts here. I think George Carlin also said, “The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas.” When will that be? Who knows.

    • J.D. Riso says:

Oops, I meant to say “quotes” instead of “posts”

    • theburningheart says:

I use to have an old teacher many years ago who used to say something very similar, he said: ‘Mother Earth will get angry towards her children, and she will give us a good spank, by producing some cataclysm that would set us back straight.’

      Thank you Julie. 🙂

  22. Serious problem, definitely. Governments cannot solve it. It is corporations, greed and profit taking. One should make all of these disappear and we could talk about return to a normal life. We know that profit taking won’t give up. That is the aspect that pays no regard to maintenance of climate and keeping the Earth alive. They will take off to another planet, you watch. The catastrophe becomes evident when we are between 3 and 4 degrees higher than we should be, and the temperature raise at 5 degrees is the absolute chaos and end. If nothing changes, we could be there in about 80 more years.

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, unfortunately plutocrats, in the form of business, and corporations are in fact the law of the land, since they control every decision of our now obsolete, irrelevant. and almost totally inefficient governments, a new form of social contract it’s badly needed.

As for them taking off for another planet, I wish they would do it now, and stop messing with us, but I am afraid in the Solar system, Earth it’s the only thing we got. And as for intergalactic travel, well good luck, our science as advance as it seems today, is still in diapers!
Thank you for your great comment, we appreciate it. 🙂

  23. Powerful post!
I was taught that this world is indeed Eden and encouraged to tend to it as such. When we do so, even suffering seems to change in meaning. Still, we live in an age when the world is seen as something to be left or transcended. This creates great suffering for all beings.

  24. theburningheart says:

The World it’s divided between those who see Earth as Sacred, or at least see our Codependency, and see Earth as our provider, and are willing to fight for it, and those who by their ignorance, callousness, and selfish motivations, can’t see nothing but a place to be exploited, to profit by it, regardless of the killing of the goose, or hen if you will, of the story, who produced the golden eggs!
I guess as the totality of Mankind, those who look to preserve, rather than destroy, are in the minority, and therefore the current state of destruction of our environment.
As to when most people will wake up, and smell the coffee, and stop doing the wrong things, and adopt the right attitude to save our environment, and by doing so save ourselves?
We can only hope, and work as hard as we can to move people out of their complacency, and denial.
So keep the good word, and fight for Eden, and thank you for your comment. 🙂

  25. You make some very good points here. If we don’t start to fight for the beautiful world we have been granted in the first place, it will soon end in disaster. Of course, Mother Nature will take care of herself, but she might kick us out of eden.

  26. If a picture is worth a thousand words, your article is very long indeed! I’m so glad you visited my blog because now I’ve found you and I’m encouraged that there are more of us on the planet. Yes, in all our unique personal passions we must go out and ‘save the world.’ Blessings and hugs to you and all your other fans!

    • theburningheart says:

Thank you for your nice comment, it’s appreciated!
Well, we need to save ourselves, the world I figure will keep spinning, but a lot of us Humans may not, and come to a disastrous end. 😦

  27. So much beauty around us but sadly man is the first one to destroy it for selfish gains or lack of apathy for their environment. We need to save & preserve what’s left. Wonderful pictures

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, unfortunately we humans have to learn the hard way, and keeping our World in good shape it’s essential to our well being, or we all will pay dearly for it.
Thank you fro your comment. 🙂

  28. natuurfreak says:

    very interesting article

Thank you Marylou, hope your rheumatoid Arthritis, gets better, so we keep enjoying your beautiful photography around the many places you visit. 🙂

I admit to some amount of discouragement, of being part of the unheard and ill-respected minority, of being tired of fighting, simply.

Your post is excellent. Well done.

  30. Excellent post. If we are constantly at war with each other, how can we get together to act on solutions for changing the way we live and treat the rest of nature?

Good question, I answer in some of my comments above, that as a specie, Homo Sapiens, in geological time, we have been on Earth just a minute and seven seconds.
So you can say, we are young, very young, and we need to mature as a specie yet.
Believe many things can go wrong in the meantime, but at some point we will reach full responsible maturity, and will be able to live in a wise, and measured way, at least I hope so…
But as, when we will be of that age?
Your guess, it’s as good as mine, our eyes may not see it.
Thank you for your nice comment, Rosaliene. 🙂

  31. It is Eden, actually, great post.

I have a view of consciousness and life upon this wonderful planet far removed from the norm, and yet I see many parallels in your writings within this majestic post.
I have not hope, but, a belief that man will transform himself and the planet. However, this will take articles, such as yours, and individuals with enormous determination to lead the way.
    A most enjoyable read. Thank You… 🙂

    • theburningheart says:

Yes, I know we are here for a purpose, and as you say, some people may find that far removed to their thinking.
And yes it will take a lot of work, from some, or many people, to hopefully lead that change soon.
We appreciate your efforts, and thank you for your comment. 🙂

      • Carolyn Page says:

I believe that change has begun. Many are now protesting at the status quo! The ‘groundswell’, so to speak, has begun in earnest.
It will take ‘leadership’ by many, however, without the many dissatisfied majority joining in the protest, change cannot occur.
        And ‘protest’ is occurring worldwide.

  33. theburningheart says:

Yes, we have reached a point now, most people it’s aware things cannot go as usual, and ready to take action.
Thank you Carolyn for let us know your thinking, and commenting on the issue, it’s insightful, and valuable. 🙂

A great collection of quoted thoughts.

  35. Perhaps we are living in the abandoned lot
next to where Eden use to be ?

    • theburningheart says:

Well, from my point of view, we never abandoned Eden, it was a symbolic way to say we didn’t look at it, with the same eyes, just like Adam, and Eve did after eating from the forbidden tree, before the expulsion, in a way being throw out of Eden, refers to the fact they no longer had the primordial innocence, a sort of a state of bliss they had, the idea it’s we have to recover that primordial innocence, to be able to be back in Eden, not an easy task, considering the current state of affairs, we live in the World.

Thank you for your comment. 🙂
